If you don't have one of these, you're poking around in the dark. This has MOST of the factory procedures outlined, but there are still a few things it does not cover. Having worked on cars for more than 30 years, this is one of the most convoluted and difficult wiring diagrams I have ever encountered. The diagram for my year and model is scattered across literally dozens of pages, interspersed with bits and pieces of wiring diagrams from other years and trim.

Each page is only a tiny snippet of the wiring diagram, with cross-references leading to dozens of other pages. And of course, they have to make up their own symbols for all the parts. Tracing anything promises to be more painful than it needed to be. For that I deducted one star, but this manual is still essential. On 22 February 2011 This is the most comprehensive manual you can get for the New Beetle.

Unlike many of the aftermarket manuals, the pictures in this one are all renderings from the models used to build the car and are far more clear than the photographs Haynes uses. This manual is also about three times as long as all the other manuals I have for the vehicle and the extra description it has is well worth the price. If you intend to do anything more involved than an oil change or brake job, this is the manual you will eventually end up needing.
