Two years ago I found the 1' hinge pins had twisted in half! I had one wing held on by only one hinge! Each wing is held onto the main deck with 3 hinge points.
Look very closely between each set and make sure the pins aren't twisted in half. Deere never made provisions to grease these hinges so after time they rusted tight.
Checking the specs on the part numbers, Deere reduced the pin diameter for the replacements. After HOURS of work I got the old pins out and replaced them. But not before I installs grease fittings. Now I can grease the original hinges and the new ones. The wings operate very smoothly now.
